Music Therapy can be provided in small or large groups. Each group is based on commonalities between its members, such as treatment goals,
age, history, gender, etc. Groups allow for the members to support each other through their therapeutic development. Small groups consist
of anywhere from two to six individuals. Large groups consist of anywhere from seven to twelve individuals.
The experiences presented vary depending on the treatment plans of the people involved. Examples of groups include, but are not limited to,
Social Communication Groups, Alternate Communication Development Groups, and Social Interaction Groups. Music experiences presented in these
groups generally consist of instrumental improvisations, song writing, vocal improvisations, and lyric analysis.
